Best 4K Blu ray Super Hero Movies Reviews

1) Deadpool

At the 4K Blu-ray film release. Director Tim Miller stated "The Ultra HD is amazing in its level of detail". Totally agree with that statement as this movie on 4K is stunning. The film was shot using an Arri Alexa 3K camera and finished off nicely at 4K. Deadpool's Ultra HD Blu-ray is so close to the film's theater view. With the addition of the HDR bonus which is only on the home editions. 

The 4K Experience

From the very first watch doing the 4K movie review its quite evident that Deadpool on 4K has increased level of detail in picture than its normal Blu-ray version. One of thee most eye popping elements that allows you to see this detail is the Superheroes suit. Things like the texture, pattern, fabric and stitching and the wider color gamut makes the costume's different shades of red not just pop out more, but blend together quite naturally. As with most CGI and green screen-heavy films, the added resolution gives the film a kind of heightened vibe, which I think filmmakers intend. Colossus, the computer generated character also looks better, with HDR allowing for improved specular lighting on the character's reflective metal body.

Additionally Dolby Atmos soundtrack to the mix, and Deadpool in 4K becomes a must have for the collection.

The 4K experience

Aѕ expected from a mоviе in which characters having all sorts of super powers like flame throwing and shooting energy beams frоm their hands/eyes/weapons, lighting еffесtѕ аrе of high importance hеrе. Higher соntrаѕt levels together with wider color gаmut mеаns thаt light blooming арреаrѕ much mоrе nаturаl like, аvоiding thе uѕuаl blосkу-glоw thаt рlаguеѕ imаgеѕ with a lоwеr colour depth (which is great). Additionally this is an extremely colorful movie with a variety of colorful exciting characters. Thаnkѕ tо HDR, аnd thе аddеd соlоr gradations that it оffеrѕ, сhаrасtеrѕ ѕhоw muсh mоrе individual detail оn ѕсrееn. Without question, thiѕ Ultra HD Blu-ray is the рrеfеrrеd way tо еxреriеnсе X-Mеn: Apocalypse.

3) Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice

Director of the movie, Zack Snyder usually shoots on 35mm film stock, his films can be scanned at 4K without any real loss in visual intergrity. With Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice, the director opted to capture certain sections of this movie with 4K digital cameras, and on 70mm film stock using Panavision 65 cameras. The film was then finished off on a 4K digital intermediate, which makes its Ultra HD Blu-ray release pretty close to what most people would’ve seen at their local theater or IMAX.

The 4K experience

Now I admit, the movie itself is quite grim, dark and muted in its presentation. However that doesn’t stop its 4K Blu-ray from being very impressive. tTe disc’s added resolution and color depth makes Batman vs Superman look as good as it possibly can in your  home. HDR support allows for great contrast and intensely vivid colors (however little there might be in this movie). 

Fire in particular, looks vibrant and lifelike, achieving a level of brightness that makes it look even more incandescent (can almost feel the heat emitting of them). Everything else on screen has finer definition, allowing you to really appreciate the detailed textures and patterns used in the movie. Such as: Batman’s and Superman's suits.

If you’re a fan of Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice, this 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray is a must have. Together with inclusive, brutal and violent director’s cut, the disc is also a testament to how 4K and HDR can improve the overall home viewing experience.

4) The Amazing Spider Man 2

Similar to Batman Vs Superman, This movie was shot on 35mm film and later scanned and transferred to 4K. Whatever your thoughts are on the movie and storyline itself aside, once you see it on 4K I'm sure you will agree that its Ultra HD format is outstanding. The epic scenes and out doors parts give The Amazing Spider Man 2 a vibrant energetic and colorful feel and viewing experience.  

The 4K experience

Reviewing the street swings that Spider Man is famous for was great fun. The amazing blue skies from the movie is outstanding on the 4K UHD format together with the sunshine... feels like you swinging with him. All these viewing pleasures are thanks to HDR. Once again the outfit really shows itself off on this format with realistic shimmers and shines of his red and blue costume. Additionally increased resolutions shows more noticeable spandex rippling upon flexing. 

My favorite though, in terms of the 4K viewing experience had to be the villain Electro. Wow, his translucent pulsating skin constantly changing hues and shades while the electricity surges through his body is ultimate. The scene where he shows his newly transformed self and billboards surrounding are a true testament to the power of this 4K viewing technology. It is perhaps the most dynamic scenes I've seen. All thanks to HDR, the scene's many colorful lights emit a more naturalistic light bloom that never shows signs of bleeding into the background.
